Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia — September 10, 2026
Peace Palace
The American Cambodian Business Chamber (ACBC) was honored to participate in a courtesy meeting with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on September 10, 2026.
The ACBC delegation was led by Ms. Sokveasna Chan, Founder and President of the American Cambodian Business Chamber, together with members of the delegation representing the Cambodian-American and U.S. business communities.
The courtesy meeting represented an important opportunity to strengthen dialogue between the Cambodian Government, Cambodian business community, and U.S.-based private-sector stakeholders. It also reflected ACBC’s continued commitment to building practical and sustainable bridges between businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, institutions, and economic partners in Cambodia and the United States.
Strengthening Cambodia–United States Business Relations
During the visit, the ACBC delegation emphasized its commitment to supporting the continued development of commercial and investment relations between Cambodia and the United States.
As a U.S.-based business chamber focused on strengthening economic connections between the two countries, ACBC seeks to create opportunities for greater cooperation in areas including international trade, investment, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, technology, food and agricultural products, supply-chain development, and market access.
The delegation highlighted the importance of creating stronger connections between U.S. companies interested in Cambodia and Cambodian enterprises seeking opportunities to expand into the U.S. market.
Through business delegations, market-access initiatives, institutional relationships, and private-sector engagement, ACBC seeks to serve as a practical bridge connecting businesses and economic stakeholders on both sides.
Facilitating Investment and Market Opportunities
The meeting also underscored the importance of continued cooperation in facilitating investment opportunities and encouraging responsible private-sector partnerships.
Cambodia has continued to develop its economic infrastructure, logistics capabilities, manufacturing base, agricultural sector, and regional connectivity. In a speech at the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit earlier in 2026, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen its investment environment, diversify its economy, develop infrastructure, improve logistics, and attract investment into areas including manufacturing, agro-industry, technology, and infrastructure.
For U.S. companies, these developments present opportunities to explore Cambodia as a potential location for manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, supply-chain partnerships, technology cooperation, and regional market expansion.
ACBC believes that stronger institutional and private-sector connections can help transform these opportunities into practical commercial relationships.
Connecting U.S. Businesses With Cambodia
A central objective of ACBC is to help U.S. businesses better understand Cambodia’s commercial environment while also helping Cambodian companies identify opportunities to enter and expand within the United States.
ACBC’s work includes facilitating:
Through these efforts, ACBC aims to contribute to a stronger and more connected commercial relationship between the two countries.
Supporting Cambodia’s International Economic Connectivity
Cambodia's strategic location in Southeast Asia, its membership in ASEAN and the World Trade Organization, and its expanding regional and international trade relationships provide an important foundation for international business cooperation.
At the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2026, the Royal Government emphasized Cambodia's efforts to strengthen trade facilitation, logistics, infrastructure, technology, workforce development, and integration into regional and global supply chains.
ACBC seeks to complement these broader economic-development efforts by helping establish connections between Cambodian opportunities and U.S. businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, distributors, and professional networks.
The Chamber's objective is not simply to promote trade, but to encourage long-term commercial relationships built on trust, transparency, mutual benefit, and practical cooperation.
A Platform for Private-Sector Cooperation
The courtesy meeting also represents the importance of continued dialogue between public institutions and the private sector.
ACBC believes that successful international trade and investment require cooperation among governments, chambers of commerce, business associations, investors, manufacturers, exporters, importers, logistics providers, financial institutions, and professional organizations.
As a U.S.-based chamber, ACBC seeks to provide a platform through which businesses can identify opportunities, establish relationships, exchange information, and explore potential partnerships.
The Chamber's role is to facilitate communication and connections while respecting the respective responsibilities of government institutions and private-sector organizations.
Building Long-Term Cambodia–U.S. Economic Partnerships
The ACBC delegation reaffirmed its interest in bringing additional U.S. business delegations to Cambodia and introducing American companies to Cambodian business and investment opportunities.
Future initiatives may include business missions, sector-specific meetings, investment discussions, factory and facility visits, trade and investment forums, buyer-seller meetings, and other forms of business-to-business engagement.
ACBC also intends to continue working with Cambodian and U.S. chambers of commerce, business associations, government-related economic institutions, investors, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to identify areas where cooperation can produce measurable economic opportunities.
The Chamber believes that sustained engagement is essential to developing partnerships that extend beyond individual meetings and lead to investment, trade transactions, technology cooperation, employment opportunities, supply-chain development, and long-term economic relationships.
Looking Ahead
The September 10, 2026 courtesy meeting at the Peace Palace represents an important moment in ACBC’s continuing mission to strengthen economic connectivity between Cambodia and the United States.
ACBC will continue working to create channels for constructive dialogue and commercial cooperation while encouraging U.S. companies to explore Cambodia and supporting Cambodian businesses seeking opportunities in the United States.
The Chamber looks forward to continuing its engagement with Cambodian and U.S. stakeholders and to developing initiatives that contribute to greater trade, investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and shared economic opportunity.
