Working Meeting Between the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the American Cambodian Business Chamber

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9, 2026, corresponding to the 12th waning day of Sraap Month, Year of the Horse, Buddhist Era 2570, H.E. Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for Cambodia, received a U.S. business delegation led by Ms. Chan Sokveasna, Founder and President of the American Cambodian Business Chamber (ACBC), for a working meeting and discussion.

During the meeting, Ms. Chan Sokveasna expressed her great pleasure and appreciation for the warm welcome extended by H.E. Oknha Kith Meng. She reaffirmed her strong commitment to strengthening and expanding business, trade, and investment relations between Cambodia and the United States, with the goal of making these ties even stronger and more substantive.

Ms. Chan Sokveasna further stated that she intends to lead additional U.S. business delegations to Cambodia in the future. The delegation participating in this visit comprised major companies with strong interest in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, particularly in key sectors including logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture.

She expressed her strong confidence that, through the positive relationship and cooperation with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, the American Cambodian Business Chamber can further strengthen collaboration and facilitate closer, more effective connections between business communities in Cambodia and the United States.

In response, H.E. Oknha Kith Meng warmly welcomed the initiative and commitment of the American Cambodian Business Chamber to helping strengthen the economic bridge between Cambodia and the United States.

The President highlighted the strong and longstanding bilateral relationship between Cambodia and the United States, spanning 76 years (1950–2026), and recalled important historical milestones in the relationship between the two countries. He also expressed appreciation for the support of H.E. President Donald J. Trump regarding the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement of October 26, 2025.

H.E. Oknha Kith Meng further emphasized that the United States is one of Cambodia's largest export markets and an important trading partner, with bilateral trade continuing to grow steadily.

In addition, the presence of leading U.S. global companies, including Coca-Cola, Ford, Chevron, Caltex, and GE, demonstrates strong confidence in Cambodia's business environment, which currently benefits from peace and political stability and is progressing toward the vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050.

In conclusion, both sides expressed strong commitment and confidence that the current visit by the U.S. business delegation will serve as a powerful catalyst for opening a new chapter of cooperation, establishing long-term investment partnerships, and generating mutual economic benefits for the business communities of Cambodia and the United States.
